Neighborhood Newsletter  - May 2001

THANK YOU!!  Kristin Maskalunas
A great big thanks goes out to Kristen Maskalunas for all her time and effort in once again putting together the Bridgewater Farm Neighborhood Directory.  It looks GREAT!  Thank you from all your neighbors!

High Speed Internet Access

The Homeowners Association contacted AT&T Cable and Ameritech to determine the availability of high speed internet access in our subdivision.

According to Ameritech, DSL service is currently not available in Long Grove. In the future, with Ameritech upgrades, DSL may be available in our area.  Ameritech does not have an ETA.

AT&T currently does not have cable modem facilities in our area and has no immediate plans.

One alternative that  is available today is a brand new service  Wireless Broadband from Sprint.

Where is the Sign?

By now you have probably noticed that the Bridgewater Farm sign at the entrance to our subdivision is missing.

Well, it appears that the sign has been stolen.  The company that originally made the sign is no longer in business, so we are retaining a couple of bids and drawings from others sign makers.

Because the sign is being made by someone different, artistically it may not look exactly the same.  Also, we will make sure that the new sign is secured to avoid theft.....again.

The new sign should be in place in 3-4 weeks.

Conservation Areas

Homeowners who would like assistance or need information regarding their conservancy areas particularly in dealing with village ordinances, fall or spring burning and improvements can contact Sara Sturtz at 913-8990.

Sub-Division Garage Sale

The annual Bridgewater Farm Subdivision Garage Sale will be held on Friday, June 22nd and Saturday, June 23rd. More details will follow.

Sub-Division Picnic

Please mark your calendar for the Bridgewater Farm Annual Sub-Division Picnic.  This year we are planning on having the picnic on Sunday September 9th.   The rain date will be Sunday September 16th......so mark your calendars. The picnic will again be held in the empty field on Burnside Court.

We are currently looking for volunteers to organize the event.  If you are interested in helping out, please contact a Board member or send us an email.

Do you want to spread the word on something that
may be of interest to your neighbors?

If you have a topic that you believe would be of interest to our neighbors or if you want to let everyone know that you are available to pet sit or baby sit, you can send an email with your information to webmaster@bridgewaterfarm.org.  Once reviewed by the Board, your information may be featured in the Resident's Views section of the web site.

In this issue, Crystal Maleski has provided details about several topics of interest that may be discussed at the Long Grove Village Board meetings in the near future. Click here or on the Resident's Views section to get more information.
