Welcome to
the Bridgewater Farm Homeowners Association web site. This site has
been developed to provide ongoing and timely information for our
residents.
Bridgewater
Farm is a community of 51 custom and semi-custom single family homes that
are nestled in the
southern tip of Long Grove, Illinois. Long Grove is located just 25
miles Northwest from Chicago.
The Village of Long Grove's name was
taken from the large grove of oak and hickory trees which once extended
southwest from Gilmer Road and Route 83, along Buffalo and other creeks
and through the area of Old Route 53 and Robert Parker Coffin Road and
beyond, including the Deer Grove Forest Preserve.
The
Village of Long Grove is unique among suburban communities, in that the
rapid advance of urban sprawl has not penetrated Long Grove's rural
lifestyle. Long Grove may be best known for its gift, antique shops and special
dining. People come long distances by auto and chartered bus to spend a day here. "Downtown" Long Grove contains some 120 specialty
shops and restaurants and is just a short walk
from Bridgewater Farm.
Though relatively small in terms of population (it has grown to an estimated 6,000), the Village is quite large in land mass, covering about 18 square miles.
By limiting residential properties to more than one acre, with most much larger, the open space of the community is retained.
A cherished feature of Long Grove is the privacy its residents enjoy. This is due to rural zoning and emphasis on the retention of natural vegetation on both public and private property alike, which ordinances zealously protect.
